Be the first to experience the brand new Mauna to Mauna Ultra race
from the founders of the Grand to Grand Ultra.
Discover the limits of endurance as you conquer volcanoes, lava flows, rainforest, altitude and extreme weather in this extraordinarily beautiful place.
Become part of an exclusive and tight knit community as you experience the highs and lows of this test of human survival, in the remotest place on the planet.
Our race will start on the lower slopes of Mauna Loa, the largest mountain in the world and will pass around Mauna Kea, arguably the tallest mountain on Earth. It rises at least 9966m through the water before then ascending a further 4200m above sea level. That makes it around 14,000m tall, dwarfing Everest’s puny 8848m! Hence the name – Mauna to Mauna Ultra.
Hawaii Island is a unique ecological paradise, which has 11 of the world’s 13 climate zones. It is the only land on earth, which is growing because it has the world’s most active volcano, Kilauea, which is continually erupting into the sea.
Most native Hawaiian species of plants and animals are endemic, which means that they are found in Hawaii and nowhere else in the world. Even the Galapagos can’t match Hawaii for bio-diversity and a study of evolution.
Hawaii has some of the most beautiful beaches in the Pacific, which are part of the course, but expect to see a wilder and untouched side of Hawaii Island. You will get to experience the unique Hawaiian history and culture, the only state in America with another official language and a royal family.
In our inaugural year, the number of entries is limited to a maximum of 100 spaces and these will fill quickly when registration opens on 25th August 2016.(Visited 12 times, 1 visits today)
